Hello masses;
Welcome to another wonderful installment of happiness and sunshine from
your favourite curmudgeon (did I spell that correctly?). It’s
been a beautiful week, with plenty of outsourcing and rainbows for
all. Apparently, the outsourcer is now responsible for the fact
that I have air to breathe this afternoon. Woot!
ENOUGH! I can’t stand talking about this anymore, but it’s like a
huge high speed car wreck; you know you don’t want to see the nasty
burnt, mangled bodies of the passengers, but you can’t help but look
anyway.

So I’ve been playing a lot of WoW lately. My warrior is pushing level 19, which is neat. I’m a member of this guild
(Call of Fate), which is basically a group of adult players who have
gotten together with the distinct mission of not being a bunch of
jerks. It’s working well for me. I’ve gotten lots of cool
loot from them that’s helped me out quite a bit. These people are
a great group to be associated with; definitely the most hippy-like
gaming crowd I’ve ever run across. The guys at work are still
waaay ahead of me and I don’t have any hope of catching up, but they
throw me all kinds of sweet bits that are of little use to them but
make a world of difference to me.
Things at home are cool. Clare’s growing up fast and learning new
things every day. It’s really neat to watch the learning process
in action (and interact with it). She’s gonna be a really smart
kid. X-mas was a lucrative gig for her… she scored enough toys
to keep a small country in entertainment for a decade; with more to
come x-mas day when she opens her stuff from Santa and ma &
pa. No doubt, some new pictures of her beautiful mug will be
showing up on the site soon.
Char and I are continuing to stumble through life, as is our way.
There’s not really much to report since our smash-hit party. The
next big event for us in New Years eve, which this year will consist of
getting loaded to the groovy sounds of Hello Dave and our old
favourites Domestic Problems at the Intersection in GR. A nice
large group of our closest friends will be attending and we are very
excited.
Alcohol recommendations this issue :
Boddington’s Pub Ale “My new summer beer”
Graham’s 20 year old Tawny Port “Try it with a Payday candy bar (thanks Jim!)”
I’ve been slowly gravitating towards bourbon and scotch lately as
well. No recommendations thus far; I don’t know enough about the
stuff yet. I also had a beer that wouldn’t -exactly- go into a
recommendations list, but still deserves mention because of who it’s
from. Apparently, Anheiser Busch has begun brewing a stout,
called “Bare Knuckle Stout”, and for a beer from AH, I have to say it’s
decent. I would call it a lighter, sweeter Guinness, though I’m
sure there are Guinness snobs out there that would want me shot for
that comment (drink some Youngs and shut up). Again, I only drink
Guinness when I’m looking for a light stout that’s not porter…
otherwise I definitely prefer some from Youngs or Sam Smith.
Well… this is really long and drawn out. Hope you’re still
reading and this finds you and yours in good health and good
spirits. Have a fine holiday; whatever that might be.
