Back from the mountains.

We’re back! There are pictures in the gallery of our vacation. We’ve also added some pictures from Dan and Karyn’s wedding to the site.

While we were in CO, we went to a really great place called the “Friday Afternoon Club” at the Eagle’s Nest on Vail Mountain. Basically, it’s a casual club, outdoor atmosphere with a band playing at 10,000 feet. The only way to get there is to take a nice steep gondola ride to the top. We saw one of our favourite bands (Hello Dave) at this place. It rained for a little while we were there, giving me the unique oppurtunity to dance barefoot in the rain to Hello Dave while on top of a mountain. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun and number of other current and former Michiganders enjoyed getting slightly drunk that afternoon. It seems it’s a -lot- easier to get drunk at 10,000 feet.

The drive sucked. We’ve both determined that Nebraska is an evil state filled with people who are obsessed about living on the Iowa border. There is NOTHING there. 5 hours of NOTHING. We’ve added just over 2500 miles to the odometer this trip and I say the trip was a blazing success despite Nebraska sucking the big one.
