Good evening, fair readers. After a day of traveling to Elkhart to visit my brother, his wife, and their newborn daughter, I’m rather glad to be home. As is usual for me, the whole “baby thing” just isn’t any huge event for me. I have a difficult time dealing with humans that can’t communicate and most babies look the same to me. I honestly don’t think I was really destined to do the parental thing, but here I am.

The kid is cute, as most babies are, and is already creating memories for the new parents. This is quite honestly the best part of making the trip. It’s quite clear that most everyone goes through the same turmoil and uncertainness when first confronted by that small bundle of human-ness that requires everything from you just to survive. It’s an eye-opening experience, to be sure.

And the stories of bowel-movements gone awry will haunt this child until the end of her days; just like they do with us.

Most of you are probably bored by now… this is nothing new or earth-shattering. I’m just saying that it’s interesting to watch someone else (that’s close to you) go through it. Sometimes I think we all loose sight of the fact that we’re not alone in this world.

Tonight, we are just chilling out, relaxing. I updated the site a little to add some new graphics and clean up a couple that have been a “work in progress”. I’m also working to get author pages and graphics representing each of us on each post, so you can skip my maniacal raving if you’re here to read the sweet lullaby of the Char-Blog. I’m also full of myself and want a crazy-cool avatar to represent my online personality.
