HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Current Mood:I’ve got an Idea! emoticon I’ve got an Idea!

new yearAnother year has come and gone, and I am happy to say we had a fun alcohol-filled evening with friends to help ring in 2008.  We overdid it as usual bringing probably 150 jello shots, as well as Brad’s newest goodie - pudding shots.  Really they were more like ice cream shots by the time they were done.  We had one of the best spreads we’ve ever had.  I think that now that we’re all “grown ups”, and not eating like we’re still in college - we actually cook things that are good (instead of bringing things that come from a can or the deli section - well sometimes when time doesn’t allow we do, but our choices are somewhat better).  I took the left over Christmas goodies to get them out of the house, as we definitely had our fill over the past week.  We hung out, and had the usual fun - my friend Steph made snow angels in her bare feet.  It was the usual fun…and it was nice to get together with the “geeks”, as it’s been a long time since we’ve had a get together.

2007 was a pretty good year, however it was far too busy for my taste.  We had lots of things going on…2 new nieces (which are getting oh so big), I gained a new sister-in-law, and we had lots of traveling to do in celebration of the events.  Last year we missed out on our Colorado trip, but I am already begining to make plans so we can go for sure this year.  I also have some other goals that I want to accomplish this year.  I’m not one for the whole resolution thing…because I never follow through with them, and they become more of a pain to try to remember.  So, I’ve decided to try setting some goals instead.

This year I want to get back to eating healthier.  I’m contemplating trying out Weight Watchers so I can loose the 100 pounds I need to.  I’ve almost put back on the weight I gained when I was pregnant…and I’m not happy about it.  That and I want to be healthier, so I can be able to do the things I want to.  About 4 years ago I was on the road to loosing it and I slowly fell off the wagon.  I think that most of my problem is I need to do something for me instead of others this year.

Another goal I have is making some money with my new in home party business.  I started late last year, and haven’t made much…but I think if I really push myself to get out there and do some parties I can be good at it.  That and it gets me out of the house for a night out with the ladies.

I also want to work on my Wish List I started months ago, and get some things done around this house.  I think if I declutter the house and get things in order, and work on my goals then I can have a sucessful 2008.  What are your goals this year?

  1. 1 Look, Mom, Look!

I think that all of your goals are going to keep you just as busy as last year! I hope that you have a wonderful and healthy 2008! By the way, I also read Brad’s post on being a vegetarian. I am reading the book “The Food Revolution: How your diet can help save your life and the world” by John Robbins. If you haven’t read it, I would recommend it. I haven’t read it all yet, but it seems to really fit with what Brad was saying. I just told Matt tonight that I was thinking about dropping some of the flesh from my diet as well in the name of health for 2008!
