I would love to scream at the top of my lungs very loudly F*&$ right now.  In hopes of just painting the old office and having a new room for Clare, it looks like it’s going to take more than that.  While looking at the wall that has the most holes in it to see what it would take to patch it (as it looked like we had drywall in a mostly plaster house) we found mold underneath the paint and a soft spot that goes up to the ceiling in the drywall.  We think that some water damage has happened behind the chimney, and has caused the leak we have in our basement as well.  So….now we need to climb up on our roof and see what is going on, and because Brad doesn’t want to climb up there and doesn’t want me climbing up there we will be hiring someone to do the fixing.  In some ways I wonder “What were we thinking?” when we bought our fab 1922 house.  Neither of us is handy, and our parents live 1.5 & 2.5 hours away.  There are things that I would like done…..see my Wish List posts here & here, and in order to have them done we need to scrape together funds, mostly because we can’t do some of the labor or don’t want to do some of the labor for various reasons (i.e. we don’t have the skills handy men or women have and are unsure of ourselves).  In some ways I wish we had bought a newer house, or built the house we wanted that would fit our needs.  Instead we had to go with our first emotional instincts and buy the cute house with all the windows and great molding on a quiet street in Eastown.  Ugh……when will it end?  I think I may go drown my sorrows in some vodka…..no maybe some chocolate……yeah, good old fashioned…..that’ll ease my stress levels.  Really, I should be a good little sprout and go for a bike ride to ease the stress……but that’s just too much exercise in a case like this!  Maybe I need one of these instead.
