Is it really Monday Again?

The weekend seemed to fly by in our house.  I have no clue where it went to.  Friday night we went out on a Family Date (as Clare put it) to a Japanese/Chinese buffet.  It’s pretty reasonable, and the food is good….and they have a decent sushi buffet!  That’s my favorite, they also hava a hibachi grill…I have yet to try that, maybe next time.  The name of said buffet is Ming Ten, they are located in the Celebration Cinema parking lot above the Melting Pot.  Clare loves it because after dinner they have an ice cream bar.  Afterwards it was a trip to Meijer to finish grocery shopping, and Brad wanted to buy a few things.

On Saturday the day kinda slipped away from us.  Clare played happily around the house, as I tidied up, cruised the web, and watched some tv.  Then her & Brad grilled up some Boca Burgers for dinner.  Clare was sent to bed, and Brad & I decided on cocktails & a movie.  During the movie I got a text from a friend that was up the street at Billy’s Lounge listening to the fine tunes of Domestic Problems.  We have been LONG time fans of this band, and I think it’s the first band Brad & I followed around the state to various bars.  I’ve seen these guys probably close to 1,000 times (probably quite literally) and the shows are ALWAYS good.  I even have a drum head hanging on my wall from the band circa 2001 - signed by all the members, and it was from my last show at WMU that I had planned with SET (Student Entertainment Team).  I even have a poster with the original band members in basketball uniforms with a show date at WMU.  I tried desperately to find a babysitter, but alas it was a bust.  I asked Brad if he wouldn’t mind me going up the street to meet our friend…and I wasn’t drinking that much so I wanted to take the camera.  Well, the drinks were flowing freely at Billy’s…as usual, because I went into the bar and asked for a double Vodka & Tonic.  The bartender misspoured, and accidently made 2 doubles of my drink so I got 2 drinks for $3.50….my lucky night!  I found Brian, and the band started playing.  It was amazing, it reminded me of my lost years in Club Soda with my friends seeing them.  It was a good time, I wish Brad would have been able to come too…I’m so very lucky to have him.

There are pictures and video’s in the gallery for those that are big fans too!  Some of the video’s in the gallery are a little bumpy, the first ones are bumpy from me holding my camera above my head to get video and pictures and getting bumped by fellow dancers.  The later ones are bumpy from no other excuse than I had too much to drink.  It was an awesome show though, and I’m so grateful that my hubby let me loose on a late night chance to go see Domestic Problems.  I can still hear the songs in my head.

Sunday was spent recovering from too little sleep, and too much to drink.  Then we were off to one of Clare’s friend’s birthday party.  It was all girls, and they had fun running around the Birthday Girl’s backyard….playing duck duck goose and red light-green light.  They each got their own bowl with their names on them for their ice cream sunday’s, and that was followed by cake.  They all had lots of fun, and I think the Birthday Girl probably crashed from all the running, giggling, and sugar….as I know that’s what Clare did!  When I came home I made dinner, with a little help from Brad.  We made an awesome stir fry with steamed broccoli on the side.  Clare even raved about it!  I blissfully fell asleep on the couch very early in the evening, an d was woken to Brad telling me to go to bed…I was snoring a little loudly I guess.  :)  And today, being Monday, we are all back to the grind of daily life.  I wish it were weekends for like a month!

At least I know I’m not the only one getting older. I haven’t seen Domestic Problems since I was 22! Glad to Andy & Job still playing.
